    Beginning Pilates Workshop
    The perfect starting point for all brand new or returning Pilates students! Learn all the fundamentals of Pilates in this in depth workshop. We will start with the basic principles of Pilates; breath awareness, core engagement, and proper body alignment. Learning to master these fundamentals will have you ready to participate in our Mat Essentials Class or Mat 1 Class. We will spend time on the basics, giving each participant a chance to really understand how to engage your core, and how to use your breath with movement. We will cover how to adapt Pilates exercises to meet your body’s particular needs. This workshop will have you ready to move on and challenge yourself, ready for a stronger, more flexible body!

    Nada Meditation with Lorri
    Friday, February 24th
    2012 6:00-8:00pm $35 ($45 after Feb. 15th)

    Using gentle Yin Yoga as a basis for preparing the body for meditation, Lorri will introduce you to the branch of Yoga called Nada ~ meditation through sound and music. In this workshop, learn the value of a “sitting” practice and journey into the realm of the chakras. Discover subtle techniques for invigorating these energy centers by using mental imagery, mudra (seals or gestures) and mantra (sounds). By tapping into the hidden power of sound, we can learn to focus and quiet the mind.

    Yamuna Body Rolling Series
    Introducing our newest class offering-Body Rolling. This amazing work is a combination of massage, fitness and chiropractic all rolled into one!  This method works throughout the body to realign muscles, release tension and create an overall sense of freedom and space in the body. Body Rolling works with the body’s natural energy pathways, releasing contracted muscles, and changing restrictive movement patterns to promote healing.  If you are ready to release old patterns of tension  in your body, this is the class for you!

    willPower & grace®
    willPower & grace® is a group exercise program created in 1999 in NYC by fitness pro Stacey Lei Krauss. This is a high energy, fusion group exercise class that consists of postures and drills, with a cardio and strength challenge that will enhance your focus on core and form. This class will provide the cardiovascular solution that mind-body practitioners have been looking for, and the foot-fitness conditioning program that athletes need. Starting with a foot warmup, we integrate the smartest and safest barefoot training methods to strengthen your feet while progressively correcting imbalances in your ankles, knees and hips.

    This class provides a full body workout with a major focus on form and function in movement! The perfect complement to add cardio to your Pilates and yoga practice!

    Group Reformer Series
    Pilates on the reformer in a group setting! The fluid choreography of the exercises performed on the Reformer is designed to improve core strength and stability, heighten body awareness, and develop lean and toned muscles. The Essential-level repertoire will challenge your muscles in this full body workout. Class size is limited to 4 people to provide individualized attention in this group setting. Register early to secure your spot!

    Parks Pilates
    This class will not only improve core strength and flexibilty, but will help you reach your weight loss goals! We will combine Pilates floor mat work with dynamic standing movement to increase heartrate and burn fat. We may include small hand weights for added resistance and toning. Suitable for participants with some prior Pilates experience and no injuries

    Class starts Tuesday, 2/7, 4 week series.

    Pilates w/Small Equipment
    Take your Pilates workout to the next level! Incorporating small equipment to the traditional mat exercises to enhance the benefits of Pilates. The addition of these pieces of equipment will add resistance to tone and sculpt your upper and lower body in addition to enhancing and challenging core strength. Classes may include flexible bands, resistance circles, weighted toning balls and foam rollers. Add variety to your Pilates workout!

    Pilates Mat Essentials
    This class is a great place for new or continuing students! We will move along at a challenging pace in our Pilates exercises repertoire. With this series you will improve core strength and stability, challenge yourself at your own pace and see improvement in your overall strength and flexibility.

    Lunchtime Mat Essentials
    Give yourself a mid day pilates break. Join us for an alternative to staying in the office and eating lunch at your desk! A quick break in your day to renew and rejuvenate. Our lunchtime class will revive you for the second half of your day. This is a class suitable for all levels.

    TRX Training
    The latest in fitness - Suspension Training Exercise. This uniquely designed system is "All Core All the Time!" In this full body workout, you will use your own body weight and adjust your body angle to increase challenge. Improve core stability, muscular endurance and aerobic conditioning with this fun and motivating class! Class size limited to 8 students.

    TRX Drop-in & Punch Card Policy

    Punch cards for 6 classes are valid 8 weeks from date of purchase.

    TRX classes are limited to 8 students per class. First available space always goes to students registered for the series classes. Any available remaining spots will be open to TRX punch card students/drop-in students.

    Punch card students may reserve spots 1 month in advance.

    Punch card students that do not show for their scheduled class, forfeit their payment for that class.

    Drop-in students must secure spot with payment 2 hours in advance of the class start time. Scheduled drop-ins that do not show, forfeit their payment.

    Candlelight Yoga
    Unwind from your day with this meditative, slow flowing yoga class. We will move through basic yoga postures, adapting each pose to your individual needs. All in a setting of soft lighting and soothing music to allow you the complete experience of releasing tension and restoring peace to your body and mind. We will end with a quiet final relaxation focusing on calming the breath and relaxing the body. This class is suitable for beginners as well as experienced yogis.

    Intermediate Yoga
    Practice and refine basic asana (postures) coordinated with the breath. Learn pranayama techniques (breathwork), basic meditation, and chanting, set to unique world music rhythms. This series class meets once-weekly to quickly build a personal yoga practice. Suitable for beginners who have had some experience with yoga. Challenging postures will be offered and can be modified for beginners.

    Gentle Yoga
    If you are new to yoga, or want to improve your current practice this class is perfect for you!  Introducing a more traditional style of yoga, this Iyengar based practice will benefit the body, mind and spirit in a relaxing and safe environment.  Starting with the essential principals of yoga; proper body alignment and breath awareness, we use props where necessary to support the body in each pose. With our intent on making the mind-body-heart connection of yoga, we move slowly and mindfully into each pose to maximize the benefits for your body- increasing strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. We end the class with deep relaxation and a short meditation to integrate the practice and quiet the internal chatter of the mind. This class is suitable for beginners and all levels.

    Zumba
    Who says exercise can’t be fun? Join us for the hottest fitness craze in the nation! This high energy, low impact cardio dance class is for everyone…even non-dancers! All you need is a willingness to learn & have fun! It blends rhythms from Latin, African and International beats, with dance steps from Salsa, Meringue, Cha-cha, Samba, Hip hop & Belly Dancing among other international favorites! Zumba is fun and energizing while at the same time an awesome cardio workout!!
